Just taking a nap can lead to dizziness, is this the reason for it? Even home remedies lead to this! The general type of dizziness is called Vertigo by Ayurvedic expert G.K. Tharajeshree. When one's head is moved, this troublesome state is called Bramha in Ayurveda. Vertigo includes symptoms like dizziness, confusion, imbalance, instability, swaying of the head, spinning, fear upon seeing heights, migraines, and tinnitus.
Vertigo arises due to imbalances within the body, causing instability in the physical state. When we engage in activities like reading or lying down, it helps to improve the stability of the body's balance system. However, if there are imbalances within the body, Vertigo can occur due to these imbalances in the physical state. Vertigo sufferers may experience symptoms such as instability and anxiety, much like feeling disoriented.
Symptoms of Vertigo include:
- Nausea
- Vomiting
- Clear gait instability
- Increased sweating
- Feeling auspicious or unsteady when seeing objects >
- Inability to speak clearly
- Increased sweating
Home remedies that help with Vertigo in Ayurveda:
- Taking a teaspoon of sesame seeds and grinding them into fine powder. Mix this powder in a cup of warm milk and drink it. This helps to alleviate vertigo symptoms.
- Take 2 grams of Shankhapushpi powder in a cup of warm water and make a decoction. This helps to calm the mind. Drink it before bedtime.
- Soak 3 teaspoons of dried gooseberry in water overnight, and consume it twice a day. This helps in alleviating the symptoms of vertigo, headaches, and ear imbalance.
- Mix 1 teaspoon of ginger powder with 1 teaspoon of cumin powder and add honey to it. Consume this mixture twice a day. This remedy aids in the elimination of vertigo caused by various disorders.
- Prepare a decoction by taking 2-3 teaspoons of Aswagandha powder along with a pinch of cumin, neem, and basil leaves. Drink this concoction in the morning on an empty stomach. This helps in reducing the internal imbalances that cause vertigo.
Additionally, follow these practices:
- Massage the scalp with coconut oil before bedtime.
- Consume soaked almonds with yogurt.
- Drink tea or coffee in the morning, excluding almonds, to balance the body's internal system.
- Apply half a teaspoon of cardamom powder mixed with clarified butter on the head before bed to reduce dizziness.
- Consume a small quantity of clarified butter mixed with jaggery before bedtime.
If the symptoms of Vertigo are severe, it's advisable to consult a doctor for proper treatment.
